Etched Acrylic Shoe Shelf
I started off with a rough 3D model, which ended up not being the final design but it helped me figure out dimensions.
Next I created a DXF to cut pieces of wood to hold the shelves.
I test-fitted the shelves with foamcore first!
Here is the basic shelf with no LEDs or acrylic etching!
I completely forgot how to solder jumper wires to NeoPixel LED strips, and it took me forever and really stressed me out because I was running out of time. Thankfully, a friend told me to solder them to the bare wire leads and that worked.
In this photo I am quickly trying to finish wiring in the last 15 minutes of the hackathon. Thankfully, it all worked!
Here is the completed shelf, finished just minutes before the deadline! I decided to etch the Nike and Jordan logos into first two shelves, but sadly did not have time to put LEDs on the top shelf so I decided not to etch it.
